Loading The Hopper
- Place Track Magic on a plate to prevent spillage
- Fill the hopper with 0.5 inches of powder. (Our favorite powders ranked: 1: baking soda, 2: baking powder, 3: Wondra Quick-Mixing flour or 4: all-purpose flour.)
- Shake the hopper to level out the powder. It should cover the spindle spokes completely.
- Gently move device from the plate to the surface you want to start from.
- You are now ready to make tracks!
Making Tracks
- Gently place Track Magic on the surface you want to start from.
- Make sure the arrow on the hopper handle is pointed in the direction you want to go.
- Lightly press down on the gear handle and twist clockwise about 1/8 of a turn. For flour or other more coarse powders, 1/4 turn works better.
- Gently lift and move device to the next desired print zone.
- Repeat until you are happy with the trail you've created!
With the included extenders, even the tallest track makers can lay down tracks without having to bend down to the floor. Just hold on to the gear handle at the top and move it around like so, keeping the arrow on the hopper handle pointed in the direction you want to go. Happy trails!
Cleaning After Use
- Remove base from hopper assembly.
- Rinse under cold or luke-warm water only.
- Set out to air dry on a towel or drying rack.
- Don't use hot water. High temps can warp the plastic.
- Don't put Track Magic in the dishwasher. High temps can warp the plastic.
- Don't air dry outside in the heat and direct sunlight. The combination of heat and UV rays can warp the plastic.
Most powders are easily vacuumed up after your event. Easy peasy!
Disassembly
- Place Track Magic on a surface.
- Twist the hopper handle counter clockwise until the snap/lock mechanism opens up.
- Pull up on the hopper handle to free it from the base.
- Holding the spindle spokes in one hand and the gear handle in the other, turn the gear handle counterclockwise until the 2 parts separate.
Assembly With Extenders
- Insert the threaded end of the spindle into the underside of the hopper.
- Thread the first extender handle onto the spindle.
- Thread on the 2nd extender handle. Make sure to give this a gentle but snug fit, as this will help prevent that connection point from failing. This connection point is the most prone to breaking if handled roughly.
- Thread on the gear handle.
- Place the assembled hopper into the slots on the stencil base, making sure the arrows on the hopper and stencil base line up.
- Twist clockwise until the snap/lock mechanism locks into place.
